Before you rush to the hospital, make sure to distinguish which labor contractions are true. When you feel pain in your lower back and around your abdomen, it’s a sign that you’re experiencing actual labor contractions. On the other hand, if the pain comes from your lower abdomen, then it may mean that you’re not yet experiencing labor. To be certain, visit or give your attending physician a call.
